Since the Global Peace Film Festival began in 2003, we’ve worked to find the best films on environmental issues to include in the program. Without a sustainable and healthy planet, the world will not be at peace.
There are so many issues to explore and filmmakers on every continent continue produce incredible work to enlighten and inspire us. In the festival, we present not just films about problems and ills in the world; we want to show that all over the planet people are working to make the world a better place – we want to present films about solutions and offer things audiences can do to support those efforts.
This is one thing that makes the Global Peace Film Festival a different kind of festival. We want audience involvement to continue beyond the festival and into their daily lives. I hope this blog will begin a dialogue about peace and the environment.
