Welcome to Green Is Dead from the Sustainable Synergy Team! We will be regular contributors to the food sustainability blog, as well as the rest of this site, and wanted to start by a proper introduction.  We are Slow Food leaders for the Orlando, FL chapter.  Though we both have very different upbringings, we both connect with the philosophy behind Slow Food….Food that is Good, Clean and Fair.

Rebecca tends to explain the technicalities of Slow Food to others, and feels an emotional connection to her local farmers and community at large.  Jennifer, on the other hand, explains the connection that we are all missing with our family around the table each day - which she believes is aiding in the break down of societal bonds.

It is our intention that through all the blogs, articles, podcasts and videos represented on Green Is Dead, that you and your family begin to connect with your food source as a whole; the work it took to provide that food from your efforts as well as the producers involved; and your family around the dinner table each day.

Re: Sustainable Synergy: Welcome to Food Sustainability

I didnt know that Slow Food was so powerful. I undewrstood by the name that it was the opposite of Fast Food, but I didnt realize that it took into account social justice and family bonds. Very interesting!
